I have travelled to many wonderful places around the world, each as enchanting as the other. But last month I was lucky enough to work alongside my very good friend, Lucia, on a trip to Yala National Park in Sri Lanka.  I have a big love for nature and wildlife and had never experienced a safari in Sri Lanka before,  so for me this was all very new and very exciting.

The purpose of this trip was to help promote the amazing wildlife that Sri Lanka has to offer and also Wild Trails, luxury camping safari accommodation in Yala. http://www.wildtrailslanka.com/index.html

We took a direct flight from London to Colombo with the lovely Sri Lankan Airlines http://www.srilankan.com/en_uk/uk

The natural excitement of looking for the animals was amplified by the brilliant company of Millinda, who runs Wild Trails,  plus the trackers and drivers.

We had been in the park for less than an hour and already spotted our first Leopard! That along with elephants, monkeys, eagles and much more!

We arrived at camp to find our dinner table set up in the shallows of the river, where we enjoyed a 4 course lunch, later followed by a 4 course dinner. We dined like Queens!

The luxury tented accommodation is fully equipped with double bed, proper toilet and shower and  a couple of hammocks out front for swinging with the monkeys!

The service, accommodation and wildlife were outstanding throughout our stay, I’d recommend this trip to anyone.

Here are a selection of my favourite images…..I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them!
